HSS - Pediatric Rehabilitation & Young Athlete

The HSS Pediatric Rehabilitation & Young Athlete Center is the foremost pediatric outpatient rehabilitation resource for children and young adults in New York City. Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, this brand-new facility was designed with our patients' and families' comfort in mind, with private areas for individual treatment as well as expansive spaces for open movement.

Our dynamic, multidisciplinary team consists of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists who have advanced training in neurodevelopmental, orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. For young athletes, we offer tailored programs that bring together our clinical expertise and the latest in technology and equipment to address rehabilitation needs, enhance sports performance, and minimize injury risk. For infants and toddlers in need of developmental services, we have a dedicated area to work on motor skills, functional abilities, balance, and coordination.

There are two physical therapy gyms uniquely designed to provide specialized and individual care. The space also includes an occupational therapy gym with a climbing wall, age-specific sensory equipment, and a fine-motor hand therapy space as well as private speech therapy rooms with SMART Board™ access for those patients with language and communication therapy needs. Specialty trained speech-language pathologists can also address swallowing and feeding impairments. Additionally, a dedicated Equipment and Assistive Technology Clinic supports kids in need of mobility equipment, assistive devices, or augmentative communication tools.
